Electricity credit is paid for in advance on a ‘pay-as-you-go’ basis in exchange for secure, contactless RFID card tokens with values ranging from £1.00 to £50.00. Using RFID technology, the cards can be programmed with unique serial codes to help protect customers’ revenues and enable cancellation if misplaced or stolen.
Emlite RFID meters simply require the user to hold the contactless card close enough to transfer credits, replacing the need for a magnetic-stripe card slot.
